We offer exploration of Different Clay Types & Techniques

✔ Participants will work with various air-dry clays, including paper clay, salt dough, and cold porcelain clay.
✔ Through tactile exploration, students will discover how different textures, drying times, and material properties influence their work.
✔ This class is about discovering clay’s versatility—students will experiment with shaping, pressing, and texturing clay using tools like rolling pins, hammers, stamps, and even their hands.
✔ Students will engage in hand-building techniques such as coiling, pinching, and slab rolling to create bowls, birdhouses, figurines, and more.
✔ As students gain confidence, they’ll be encouraged to collaborate, brainstorm, and develop their own creative ideas, making each project uniquely personal.

What Young Artists Will Learn

Fun & Engaging Projects

Our structured lessons and open-ended creative sessions introduce children, emerging makers, and budding artists to a variety of clay-making techniques, including:

  • Clay Mosaics – Combining air-dry clay with mixed media like sea glass, beads, and tiles to create stunning, textured art.

  • Handmade Clay Charms & Magnets – Small-scale sculpting projects that encourage fine motor skills and imagination.

  • Miniature Sculptures & Figurines – From whimsical gnomes to lifelike succulents and cacti, participants will craft their own three-dimensional artworks.

  • Functional Art – Projects such as handprint bowls, rainbow vases, and crayon holders, allowing individuals to create artistic pieces they can use every day.

Decorating & Finishing Techniques

Since no kiln or firing is required, students will explore a variety of finishing techniques to enhance their creations:

  • Using acrylic paints, water-based glazes, and sealants, students will learn how to add color, texture, and durability to their pieces.

  • Discovering stamping, carving, and layering techniques to add unique artistic details.

  • Ensuring projects are long-lasting and display-ready with proper sealing methods.

Our learning approach

  • Building Confidence & Social-Emotional Skills: Working with clay fosters patience, focus, problem-solving, and emotional expression through a tactile and therapeutic experience.

  • Encouraging Exploration Over Perfection: Encouraging students to experiment with techniques such as sculpting, molding, stamping, and layering, fostering confidence and creative risk-taking.

  • Problem-Solving & Critical Thinking: Helping students make artistic and technical decisions independently.

  • Safe & Supportive Environment: Our studio provides all materials, tools, and guided instruction, ensuring an accessible, inclusive space where every artist, maker, and explorer feels empowered to create, discover, and grow.

Final Showcase

At the end of each 6-week session, students will curate and present their clay creations in an interactive showcase.

The exhibition will feature individual sculptures, functional pieces, and collaborative works created throughout the program.

This is an opportunity for students to share their creative journey, process, and discoveries with peers and the community
